Beat those Credit Crunch Blues: Luxury Holidays on a Budget
With all the talk of the credit crunch and doom and gloom around the world, you might think a luxury holiday is the last thing you should be booking. Ironically, there isn’t a better time to get away and there are some real bargains to be had to places you might have never dreamed of visiting.
You may have to travel a bit further than usual to make you stretch those pennies and pounds, but it will be more than worth it.
One of the first destinations to consider is Sri Lanka. A beautiful, tropical island in the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka has thick jungles, picture perfect beaches and historical cities. The climate is tropical (hot and humid) most of the year with monsoon season falling between October and January. It is a good time to visit Sri Lanka as you will be helping to support the local businesses that have lost a lot due to the recent unrest, but you can also pick up a nice deal while you are at it. The British Pound is continuing to rise against the Sri Lankan Rupee, so a lot of travel companies are able to pass savings onto the consumer and hotels need to fill rooms. Flight times are long, but not excessive (around 10 to 11 hours), and there are real savings to be made by booking all inclusive breaks and keeping your holiday dates flexible.
One of the most popular luxury holiday destinations in the world is Thailand. This Southeast Asian gem is a holiday favourite for British travellers because it has so much to offer. The good news for travellers is that the British Pound is starting to recover against the Thai Baht, which means your stay will be considerably cheaper. Tourism is an important part of the Thai economy and has taken a hit due to recent political unrest. This means travel agents have been able to negotiate some fantastic deals on resorts and flights. If you are after a luxury holiday to wash away your daily stresses then Thailand has so much to offer both families and couples with some of the world’s top spas and resorts.
Like Thailand, Malaysia has something for most travellers – beautiful sandy beaches, incredibly vibrant cities and natural wonders that will take your breath away. It’s maybe not the first place on every holidaymaker’s list because of the 13 hour flight time from London, but if you are looking for a budget luxury holiday it’s hard to find a better destination. The British Pound is getting stronger against the Malaysian Ringgit, which means cheaper flights and hotels and also the cost of living when you are away. Choose to stay in five star luxury amongst the skyscrapers of Kula Lumpur, a lavish hut on the white sandy beaches of Langkawi or amongst the Orang-utans of Borneo in a rainforest eco-lodge.
Far away from the tropical surroundings of Southern Asia, Egypt – a popular African holiday destination – has really come into its own during the credit crunch. There’s so much going for this destination at the moment, including reasonable flight times of around five hours, a strong British Pound against the Egyptian Pound, lush sandy beaches and some of the world’s most interesting historical monuments. Egypt is a very hot and sunny country with up to 12 hours of sunshine a day in the summer. Egypt also has some of the best scuba diving and snorkelling in the world with incredible visibility and an abundance of fish, coral and marine life.
Unlike Egypt, which has often been an affordable destination for sunny holidays, the Maldives has always been thought of as an exclusive group of islands for the rich and famous. It is still a high-end luxury holiday destination, but the economic crisis has made it much more affordable and should be on your radar if you are looking for a luxury getaway. There are some real savings to be made at the moment, especially during the low tourist season. It may be a bit rainier from May to October, but it is generally hot all year round with average min and max temperatures around 25oC and 30oC respectively.
Whether you chose to holiday on the white sandy beaches of Malaysia or spend a week snorkelling in the Mediterranean off Egypt, affordable luxury holidays are available in a growing number of destinations around the world. With so many enticing destinations to choose from, the only problem is deciding between them all.

Cure and Beat Chronic Fatigue – Learn How 4 Steps can Help You Overcome Tiredness!
A lot of people think that being tired is quite common, and most of us experience it at some point in our busy lives. If you are like so many who are working overtime, stressed or have just become a new mum with a baby then you will be even more susceptible to getting chronic fatigue.
If you are like many who have gone to their doctor for help and after a series of examinations were told that there was nothing wrong! This would leave you feeling even more depressed and probably just a little bit frustrated at not being given a âquick fixâ solution. Â When you are feeling constantly tired all the time, not being able to go out with your friends can certainly have a major impact on your home and social life.
Chronic Fatigue and long-term tiredness can have a major impact on your health and can also slowly tear down your immune system. A few examples could be:-
- Heart disease
- Incontinence
- Abdominal pain
Applying these 4 Proven Methods can help you beat and cure your Chronic fatigue.
1. Include Vitamin C in your diet plan as this will increase your immune system and protect you from getting the Flu or the common cold
2. Keep a Watchful Eye on Your Stress Level especially if you are having some discord at either the office or with your family. This can certainly add to your stress level if you are emotionally unhappy or sad.Â
To help overcome your stress level, try doing any form of exercise. This will definitely help as this will take your mind of your problems, especially if you go for a walk that makes you happy, like by the beach or in your local park.Â
3. Reduce Your Night Life Activities. If you love going out all the time to your local nightclub, then this may not be doing your body any good. Your body needs a healthy 8 â 10 hours sleep a night, so definitely limited your social going âoutâsâ to one or two nights over the weekend. Give yourself at least one day to just relax.
4. Limit your caffeine intake to only a few cups a day. Consuming too many cups of coffee will increase your energy for only a short time, and then you will find yourself tired and fatigued again, with the added dryness in your mouth from dehydration. So if you tend to drink more coffee â make sure you drink water too!
The most profound statements made by Thomas Edison is that:
“Most people overeat 100 percent, and oversleep 100 percent, because they like it. That extra 100 percent makes them unhealthy and inefficientâ.
If you knew that being tired wasn’t the norm and that there could be a simple explanation and cure to your tiredness, wouldn’t you want to know about it?
Â
Did you know that chronic fatigue can lead to many other health and psychological problems, like anxiety and depression? On average 85% of chronic fatigue suffers are women, while 15% are men and children. Learn how to beat and cure chronic fatigue here www.treatingchronicfatiguecure.info
Do You Think It Possible That, Say, The Boys High School State Champion In Basketball Could Beat Wnba Teams ?
I know that where I live, in Long Beach CA we have a few teams in the area like Long Beach POLY, Mater dei, Los Alamitos, Westchester, Artesia, & dominguez. So I can’t wait to hear the opinions. Thank you
How to Beat Christmas Stress
Christmas is a time to rejoice with friends, spend time with family, and unwind from everyday life – so yet it has become one of the most stressful times of the year. Get back to the Christmas spirit with these simple tips for managing holiday stress.
Budget Wisely: The biggest stress of Christmas is, for most of us, financial. If the debts of Christmas plague you the rest of the year, it’s time to take a hard look at your Christmas celebration. Decide what’s important about these special days – and what’s not – and budget accordingly.
The biggest expense for most people is Christmas gifts. Gifts become a hassle and a stress when buying for large groups, and especially when trying to come up with this season’s must have techno-toy. Reduce the costs of gifts in your group by setting rules, like only giving gifts to the children, having each person buy for one other, or setting a limit on costs.
Setting up a budget before the date is another good way to ensure financial worries won’t turn you into a Grinch. As early as you can, work out your expected Christmas costs (gifts, food bills, special events, even long-distance telephone charges). Calculate your disposable income between now and December 25th, and dedicate a certain amount each week to your Christmas fund. Even small amounts set aside will add up big by the time Christmas rolls around. If this fund won’t be enough to cover Christmas costs, it may be time to reassess how much you’re spending.
Do Some Good: Research has shown that when you want to feel good, you should do something good. Help out the less fortunate – volunteer at a soup kitchen or give to a charity – and you’ll feel more in-tune with the spirit of Christmas. This is a great activity to do with kids.
Make it a Family Affair: Most Christmas celebrations include family and friends galore, so why is it that most of the cooking and cleaning is done by one person? By delegating tasks early on, you will ensure that no one is left grumbling under an unfair workload. Get kids involved with small responsibilities of their own – making the stuffing or setting the table – and they’ll feel like an important part of the feast.
Get Away! If you’re not stuck at home, why not try a merry Christmas abroad? Sun-worshippers can travel to Australia for a Christmas BBQ on Bondi Beach (Bronte Beach is where the locals go), but those looking for a winter wonderland should consider the Canadian Rockies. Spend days dog sledding, sleigh riding, and ice skating in snowy mountain towns lit by twinkling stars. Particularly memorable are Fresh Tracks Rocky Mountaineer Christmas train vacations combining scenic trains, the best winter activities, and accommodation as deluxe as you like it.
Relax with these suggestions for a stress-free Christmas and make this a holiday to remember.
