I definetly think it is better for you to fly from LA to Mexico city and from there rent a car and drive to Michoacan. It will be cheaper because driving that long distance will cost you a lot of Gas. Also toll fees are very expensive. It will be safer for you and will require less money and effort if you do what Im telling you to
